Get ready to experience downtown Taunton like never before! Downtown Art Jam is back for 2026, and it's bigger, bolder, and more creative than ever. Whether you're an art lover, a curious newcomer, or just looking for a fun afternoon out with family and friends, this is the event for you.
Art Jam is a celebration of creativity in all its forms — and the best part? It's completely free and open to everyone. Stroll through multiple sites across downtown Taunton and discover something new around every corner.
This year's highlights include:
- 🎵 Live Music on the main stage
- 🎨 Painting & Drawing Demos from talented local artists
- 📚 Local Literature & Poetry featuring spoken word performances
- 🖼️ Artist Exhibits showcasing the region's vibrant creative community

- 🎭 Face Painting & Caricature Art (free for all attendees!)
- 🎬 Art Jam Short Film Festival screening throughout the afternoon at Taunton City Hall
- 🖍️ Sidewalk Chalk — an Art Jam tradition since day one!
Trescott Street will be closed to traffic and transformed into the heart of the festival, hosting vendors, the main stage, and community partners. You'll also find sidewalk sales and activities along Main Street and Weir Street, giving you plenty to explore as you wander through this festival-style celebration.
Don't miss the Art Jam Short Film Festival, hosted inside Taunton City Hall, 15 Summer Street. With multiple showtimes throughout the afternoon, you can catch a screening at your convenience — just enter through the front entrance near Main Street. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience the art of filmmaking alongside everything else the day has to offer.
Working up an appetite from all that creativity? Downtown Taunton's restaurants are the perfect place to recharge! Several participating downtown eateries will be offering special grab & go Art Jam specials — ideal for fueling up between sites without missing a moment of the fun.
At Art Jam, you set the pace. Try your hand at free interactive art activities, watch artists at work, browse one-of-a-kind creations, or simply sit back and let the creativity wash over you. There's no wrong way to experience it!
